Scarlet Skips Tips: How to Get a Higher Score
Where these tips come from
Scarlet Skips launched on 3 September 2026 and, at the time of writing, nobody has published a strategy guide for it — a YouTube search for upgrade or high-score guides returns trailers and uncut playthroughs, nothing else. So what follows is drawn from watching those playthroughs, plus what the store page states outright. Where something is a player’s opinion rather than a stated fact, we say so.
1. Watch the rope, not Scarlet
The single most repeated correction in the recordings is the player telling themselves to look at the feet and the rope rather than the character. The animation is expressive enough to be genuinely distracting, which is a design achievement and a scoring problem at the same time.
2. Take height before speed
Every speed card shortens your reaction window. Every height card widens it. Early in a run, when you are still calibrating the timing, height cards keep you alive long enough to reach more draws.
The counter-argument is real and both players in the recordings made it out loud: faster runs reach level-ups sooner, and more level-ups means more cards. That is true, and it is also how their runs ended. Take the speed once the rhythm is automatic, not before.
3. Understand what an extra rope actually costs
Adding a rope is the flashiest card in the game and by far the most disruptive. Two ropes turning at different points in the cycle mean two rhythms to read simultaneously. It is not a strictly better card — it is a different game mode you opt into mid-run.
4. The fire rope is a scoring card, not a survival card
One recording reads the on-screen score as doubling while the rope is on fire, and the store page names setting the rope on fire as one of the example upgrades. If you are chasing a number rather than a long run, this is the card to prioritise.
5. Do not chase the first-jump achievement
Off to a Great Start is awarded for dying on the first jump, and three quarters of players already have it without trying. There is nothing else to complete — one achievement is the whole list.
What we cannot tell you yet
We have not seen a card list beyond the seven confirmed in footage, and no one has published scoring formulas, so anything you read about exact multipliers is guesswork at this stage. When more playthroughs surface, the upgrade table gets updated rather than padded out with guesses.
Thanks for the feedback!
